MARINA VILLAGE

Shopping, business, boats, and condos - welcome to Alameda’s Marina Village

Alameda’s Marina Village neighborhood is located on the northwest section of the main island of Alameda, just east of Webster St. and southeast of the Webster/Posey Tube. Marina Village Parkway and Atlantic Ave. are the main streets in the area. Marina Village Parkway travels through Marina Village, curves north and does a half loop, and eventually hits the Alameda Landing neighborhood and shopping center.

The Marina Village Shopping Center is a large outdoor shopping center with a variety of services, eateries, and stores. Lucky's and CVS are the center’s anchors. Here you will also find banking, cleaners, a salon, fitness center, insurance, a dollar store, UPS, a paint store, a tire shop, a tobacconist, a veterinarian, IT services, optometrists and dentists. Feeling hungry? You have a lot of choices, from sandwiches to Vietnamese; sushi to burritos.

With over 200 acres, 30 buildings, and 1+ million rentable square feet, Marina Village is a premier office and tech campus as well. The office and research park was recently sold. “DRA Advisors has acquired the 1m sqft Marina Village office and research park in Alameda, California for $265m...The 200,000qsft of remaining vacant space is being redesigned to accommodate life science tenants.” (IPE Real Assets)

Marina Village is a community of 178 homes located adjacent to the Shoreline Park (not to be confused with Shore Line Park in Bay Farm). Shoreline Park runs between the lagoon and the Marina Village Marina. The park has walking trails and benches, and is open from 6 am-10pm. Fresh water lagoons are found alongside most of the homes here. Read more on the Marina Village’s Homeowner Association website.

Two eateries - Pacific Lighthouse Seafood Restaurant and Waterfront Deli - flank Shoreline Park.

Marina Village Yacht Harbor offers 738 berths here, along with premium dockside office spaces. The nearby Encinal Yacht Club was founded in 1890 by residents of Alameda’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

Just east of Encinal Yacht Club, software company Wind River has a large facility in Marina Village. There is even a park named for the company, Wind River Park, near the offices, along the shore.

On Atlantic Ave. you will find Jean Sweeney Open Space Park. Bordered by Constitution Way, Atlantic Avenue and Sherman Street, the open space park is located on the former Alameda Beltline Railroad property. The 25-acre park was officially opened In December 2018, with a ribbon-cutting celebration. The park features walking trails with benches, a picnic area, outdoor pavilion, and a playground with a zipline for kids.

There are two hotels in the area. Extended Stay America, near the Webster/Posey Tube, and Marina Village Inn, located east of Shoreline Park.

The Main Street Ferry terminal is nearby, on the far northwest side of the island, and is a hub for commuters and city visitors. The trip to San Francisco is approximately 20 minutes. There are two parking lots and a dog park adjacent to the terminal. Marina Village is located right next to the Webster/Posey Tube, so access to the I-880 freeway is very convenient, and Oakland is literally a few minutes away.

Marina Village is a rapidly changing area of Alameda found east of Alameda Landing, on the north side of the main island. The shopping center and business park are ever changing and expanding, with new businesses and companies coming to the area. Panomar is a large apartment complex in the area, condominiums line the lagoons, and the “California” subdivision features newer, large homes.
