Kate McCaffrey started her career in real estate in 2002 working with one of the top teams in the nation at the largest commercial real estate firm in the world (CBRE). In 2005, she co-founded McCaffrey Custom Construction, Inc. with her husband, JP, a General Contractor. Kate’s strong work ethic and sharp business acumen from her years in commercial real estate, as well as her construction knowledge and connections, have led her into an incredibly successful career in residential real estate.

In 2009, Kate decided to change her focus to residential real estate. By 2011, Kate was the #1 agent in 94501 and by 2014 she was the #1 agent in all of Alameda. In 2017, Kate formed the Kate McCaffrey Group, partnering with Amy Loughran, the #1 Buyer Agent in Alameda since 2015, creating a powerhouse team that consistently ranks as the #1 team in Alameda year over year.

As CEO of the Kate McCaffrey Group, Kate's focus is on developing and executing strategies, specifically in regards to marketing, sales and negotiations. Kate oversees the entire listing and buyer side teams and ensures that everything is handled seamlessly from first meeting all the way through to the successful close of escrow.

The Kate McCaffrey Group has been nationally recognized by the Wall Street Journal and Americas Best as one of the top real estate teams in the Nation. They are also consistently awarded locally as Alameda Magazine's Best of Alameda year after year.

Kate is a also a fifth generation Alamedan who attended St. Philip Neri and St. Joseph Norte Dame High School before obtaining her degree in communications from UC Santa Barbara. Kate lives in Alameda with her husband JP and their three daughters.
