Beautifully Updated Central Alameda Cottage-Style Home w/ Detached Office

LISTED AT $895,000

Abundant natural light, a pleasing floor plan, a detached home office and original vintage details combined with floor-to-ceiling renovations and updates are what you’ll find in this impeccable, cottage-style home located on a designated “Alameda slow street” in a convenient central Alameda location! Built in 1943, this charming home beautifully maximizes every square foot, and offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a formal living room, an open dining room/kitchen combination and a garage with an EV charger. Situated on a tree-lined street filled with lovely vintage houses, the home is nestled back from the street behind a picturesque front porch and a drought-tolerant garden with colorful plants and native grasses.

Inside, a traditional living room features the original gorgeous oak floors and a simple yet elegant fireplace. Numerous windows provide bright, natural light, and an oversized picture window looks over the sweet front porch and garden. An arched doorway leads to the dining room that’s open to the beautifully designed kitchen, creating depth and unimpeded space for both rooms. Separated from the dining room by a breakfast bar, the kitchen features a sophisticated dove gray and bright white color palette that blends perfectly with the age and characteristics of the original home. Gray quartz counters sit beneath plenty of white, Shaker-style cabinets and a white metro-tile backsplash, while cabinet crown moulding, stylish new light fixtures and stainless steel appliances add complementary finishing touches to this thoughtfully remodeled room. The bedrooms and bathrooms are accessed from a hallway to the left of the dining room and kitchen. Both bedrooms are well sized and feature crown moulding, new paint and the handsome original oak floors. The bedrooms are separated by a hallway bathroom recently updated with an attractive new light fixture and elegant black/white tiles on the floor, walls and tub/shower surround. The primary bedroom has an updated ensuite bathroom with stylish finishes, and windows that look out to the sunny backyard.

Careful attention to detail and pride of ownership are evident in every room in this special home. Lovingly remodeled and thoughtfully updated with understated yet timeless materials and finishes, this truly charming property offers a welcoming, move-in-ready home for a fortunate new owner.
