Meet Grace McHugh

I will share my understanding of the basic skills in creating beautiful rooms, working with space, color and materials. I do not feel bound by rules and conventions, committed to having an open mind, to operating outside the box. Taking the new, old, unusual, modern and traditional, and bringing them together for depth and interest. My ability to see the opportunity for beauty in what would seem like chaos to others is what sets me apart. I am the tool that takes the person’s ideas and uses them to define their personal style. I value the importance of listening to my clients. In turn, each project becomes an adventure for both client and designer. Using my multiple resources I am able to bring your vision to fruition.

My greatest inspiration has always been nature. You will see it’s presence in all my design work. Wood, shell, coral, bamboo, stone, and flowers all have been important sources for texture, imagery, and color.

The homes we live in today are different in many ways from the homes we grew up in. Over the years there’s been a shift away from formality and greater emphasis on personal expression, comfort, and casual style. The elements of an appealing room are easy to identify; comfortable well designed seating that encourages conversation, harmony of color, lighting that meets your needs and influences your mood and beautiful things to admire and touch
